Privacy policy
Last updated:
Remotito is a remote control for your TV. It works between your phone and your TV, with no accounts and no servers of its own. This policy explains what data the app uses and where it stays.
In short
- Remotito does not collect, sell or share your personal data.
- There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.
- What the app stores stays on your phone.
What the app stores on your phone
To work, Remotito stores only on your phone:
- The TVs you add: the name you give them, their address on your local network and their type.
- Pairing credentials, encrypted with Android’s secure keystore: the certificate Google TV and Android TV recognize the app by, and the key an LG TV hands over when you accept the connection.
- For infrared TVs, the chosen code set.
- Your settings: theme, color, language, buttons and remote preferences.
Removing a TV deletes its data and its key. Everything else, including the app’s certificate, is deleted when you clear the app’s data or uninstall it.
Who it talks to
Only your TVs, inside your local network. To find them it sends discovery messages (mDNS and SSDP) that never leave your network. Over infrared, the phone sends the signal straight to the TV. Remotito does not connect to any server, its own or third-party.
Permissions
- Internet, network and Wi-Fi state: to talk to the TV on your local network.
- Wi-Fi multicast: to find the TVs on your network.
- Infrared: to control TVs with the phone’s blaster.
Remotito does not ask for location, microphone, camera, contacts or access to your files.
Diagnostic log
The Diagnostics screen shows a technical log of the connection to troubleshoot problems. It is not saved to files (it is lost when Android closes the app), it contains no passwords, pairing codes or the text you type, and it only leaves your phone if you copy and share it.
This website
This site uses no cookies and no analytics, and its fonts are served from the site itself. It is hosted by Vercel, which may log technical data about visits, such as the IP address, to run the service.
